To all who attended our first ever Junior and Senior Novice, and Junior and Senior Team Event today, (Saturday September 16, 2006) I would like to thank you very much for your participation and support.

First and foremost I would like to thank the participants, for without you, we would not have cause to host such an event. It is my thought to hold similar events quarterly. Thus the next event would take place in December or January. I believe that the round robin format is best to gain experience and not to be afraid to compete vs someone older or bigger than you.

I would also like to thank the core organizers of this event and they are numerous, however, Sensei Al, Sensei Paul, Fiona McAlpine and daughters, Mr. and Mrs. Straka, Mr Young, Julian, Donna Lee, Goisha, Mrs. Mance, Mr. Ziolkowski, are to be commended for their hours of volunteer work and assistance in preparation. Thank you to Steve and Kara Kennish for donating the Tim Horton’s Coffee and Tim bits. Appreciated as always. Thank you to Mrs Marylise Forsyth for refilling the First Aid Kit.

We had lots of Referees thanks to the efforts of Keith Crivea (our Central West Representative) and Sensei Chuck Lee of the Welland Judo Club. Thank you very much. I would like to especially thank Sensei Joe Sormaz for donating the Medals. Thank you very much Joe it is greatly appreciated. And I speak on behalf of the recipients.
