A Special Thank You From Kawasaki Rendokan Judo Academy

Our December 15, 2007 Tomodachi was a resounding success! Over 80 participants and as usual the Team Event brought the house down with excitement. Congratulations to the winning team.

I would like to thank the parents and volunteers for their hard work and effort. It was good to see some junior members volunteer to referee. Results will be posted onto our web site shortly. As I had indicated…this event was to include grading fulfillment requirements. Promotion announcements will be made December 17, 2007 (once the sensei and sempai have ratified the candidates list).

We are going into our 50 th year in Judo. Kawasaki Rendokan was established 1958. January of 2008 will be our 50th year as a Judo Club founded by Sensei Harry Masao Kawasaki in 1958. Should we plan on a celebration in January (Kagami biraki perhaps??)

I was pleased with the calibre of Judo attempted at our Tomodachi, this is a testament to the quality of instruction that has been given to our young Judoka by our sensei, sempai and coaches.
