Lukasz Mozdzen -90 kg. Won Silver Medal in Istanbul Turkey the past weekend. His silver medal performance qualified him for the World Junior Championships to be held later in October 2008 in Bangkok Thailand. Lukasz is current National Junior Champion and Senior National Bronze Medallist as well as the Hatashita International Silver Medallist.

Sensei Herman Vermeiren won Silver medal in the recent World Senior Masters Championships in Belgium. He narrowly missed winning the Gold but he was satisfied in coming home with a Silver medal. Sensei Herman is one of many instructors at Kawasaki Rendokan Judo Academy.

Sensei Mitchell Kawasaki was honoured with his induction into the Canadian Black belt Hall of Fame. Other notable Judoka inductees are Frank Hatashita and Doug Rogers. Sensei Kawasaki’s induction was based on his lifelong contribution as a coach, mentor, competitor, and administrator. The induction ceremonies took place at Hamilton’s Heritage Building on Stuart Street in Hamilton by the Bay Front. Sensei Kawasaki’s daughter Stephanie also attended the event. Next year the event will take place in Toronto.

Greg Young is to be congratulated for his successful passing to Shodan. Congratulations Greg. Welcome to the Yudansha family.
